PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) invites residents of Owia to participate in the following community engagement activities, which will be held at the Owia Government School on the 28th and 29th July 2026, beginning at 4:30 p.m. each day:
- Tuesday 28th July, 2026 – Community Meeting to discuss the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season and geological hazards, including tsunamis
- Wednesday 29th July, 2026 – Emergency Communication and Equipment Training in the use of HF and VHF Radios to communicate during Emergencies and training in the use and maintenance of equipment such as generators, chain saws, weed trimmers, water pumps, power washers, generator-powered flood lights, etc.
Residents of Owia are invited to participate in these community activities, which will take place at the Owia Government School on July 28-29, 2026, beginning at 4:30 p.m. each day.
