Unstable conditions from a low level trough continue to affect the islands this afternoon, generating generally cloudy skies with some showers and possible isolated thunderstorms. Instability is forecast to continue into tonight.

Analysis indicate by tomorrow the Saharan dust mass should reduce considerably, and as a shearline approaches, further instability generating some pockets of moderate to heavy showers are forecast for Thursday through to Friday. Strong easterly winds forecast to persist today decreasing in speed tomorrow, with a further reduction anticipated for Saturday.Seas to remain moderate in open waters with swells peaking to 2.0m and an improvement in sea conditions is anticipated for Thursday night.
